The Leadership Pickens County Board of Regents, under the sponsorship of the four Pickens County Chambers of Commerce, is well underway with the planning for this year’s program. This annual program, which kicks off with an orientation session on August 28, is designed to equip emerging county leaders with skills and knowledge regarding any issues facing the County and encourages these leaders to actively participate in the decision-making process.

The program consists of nine monthly sessions from September through May. Most sessions will be held the first Tuesday of the month. Sessions include presentations at various sites throughout the county on such topics as leadership skills, education, state/local government, community service, communications, healthcare, economic development and recreation/tourism. And, by blending participants from the public and private sector, it fosters new working relationships and networking opportunities.
